What We Need
- Take the picture directly from above the crop.
- Ensure at least 2 full rows are clearly visible.
- Rows should appear parallel in the image.
- Diffuse lighting is preferred (avoid deep shadows or harsh direct sunlight).
How It Works
- Our AI detects crop plants and differentiates them from weeds.
- We count the detected plants within the image area.
- Plant density is calculated based on the count.
- Using the inter-row distance you provide, we extrapolate the density to plants per hectare.
Good Example
Clear view from above, parallel rows, even lighting.
Why It Might Not Work
- Rows are not along the largest dimension of the image.
- Picture taken at an angle, not directly above.
- Rows are not parallel or less than two rows visible.
- Very high weed pressure obscuring the crop.
- Excessive shadows or direct, harsh sunlight creating glare.
- Blurry or low-resolution image.
- Plants are still too small to be detected.
